Let us explain it simply.

What is a DOI?

DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a digital identifier Permanent and unique It is assigned to every research paper or scientific document, and remains constant even if the website link changes — ensuring permanent access to the research and accurate citation.

Why is it necessary for your journal?

Permanent access: Your research links never break.

Accurate citation: It makes it easier for researchers to cite and track your research.

A requirement for indexing: Major databases expect DOI numbering.

Credibility and professionalism: It reflects your journal's commitment to international standards.

How do you get a DOI?

A DOI is granted through registration agencies, most notably Crossref. The journal (or its publisher) subscribes to Crossref, then registers each paper's data to generate its identifier. This can be automated directly from OJS via a custom plugin that links your journal to Crossref.

Integration with the OJS system

At Erticaz, we set up your journal on OJS with automatic DOI numbering enabled, metadata configured, and ORCID identifiers for authors — so it becomes ready for citation and indexing.

Enable DOI numbering for your journal

We link your journal to Crossref and automate DOI numbering within a professional OJS platform.
